It’s honestly still the best time of year around here, at least in my opinion.
Where I live, the winter season provides some of the best weather my friend and I see all year.
The skies are green, the sunshine is out and the temperatures are near perfect. And the heat pump is quiet for a time because there is zero demand for air conditioner. It won’t last forever though. By April, the temperatures will start to rise and the heat pump will be back in demand for more cooling comfort. But last Spring, my friend and I tried something different. The fact of the matter is that we’ve been down here now for a decade. So it’s time to get real about the air conditioner costs, particularally in the summer. We’ve tried unusual strategies and always prepped the property to maximize the heat pump’s efficiency. But my friend and I also get weak knees by about mid June and begin leaning into the temperature control to provide more air conditioner. And this comes at a cost. It’s more fancy for sure to be running the air conditioner night and afternoon. But there’s another cost involved. That cost is the fact that with all that air conditioner, the heat and humidity of summer time feel all that much more overwhelming. So my friend and I did something last Spring using more regular sense and it made a immense difference. Instead of going right for the air conditioner in the, my friend and I waited until like mid May. Our bodies acweather conditionsd to the higher temperatures which resulted in a more comfortable summer time and less demand for air conditioner.
