My wife and I were very excited when we bought our first home.
We were motivated to get started with finding all the homeowner solutions we needed. The first thing we were looking to do was to upgrade our HVAC system. The HVAC was about 10 years old so we knew that it would probably be coming to an end soon. The real estate agent made sure we saw the records for the regular maintenance provided on the HVAC equipment, and that was nice, but we still wanted an upgrade. We ended up selling the old HVAC and we got a new installation through a local contractor. The expert who came to the house advised that we go for a new boiler unit since that’s what was already set up in the house. He said the radiators were all in great shape so they would work fine with a new boiler unit. He explained the new boiler would be far more energy efficient also, so it was a good thing we were going for this upgrade. For cooling, he said it would be good to go for a ductless mini split air conditioner system. He said we could have multiple zones throughout the house with no need to have ductwork installed. This sounded wonderful, so we went for this installation as well. After we took care of our HVAC upgrades, we had the plumbing checked out and all our electric wires checked. Some of the wiring was outdated, so we had all the wiring upgraded so the house doesn’t end up catching on fire because of some electric complication.
