I wanted a maintenance agreement that included free air filters and changes.

My phone was in hand and I was calling the HVAC company to ask about their maintenance and repair agreement.

After the HVAC company delivered and installed my new HVAC system, I wanted to discuss the warranty and maintenance agreement with the HVAC technician. I was sure if I wanted to pay for an extended warranty, but I had heard a lot about maintenance agreements and how beneficial they were. From what my brother said, the maintenance agreement was a necessity if you wanted to keep your warranty in good standing. If you were having regular maintenance done to the HVAC system and had the air filters changed on schedule, your maintenance agreement was being fulfilled. If you missed just one air filter change, the HVAC company could void your warranty. I didn’t want this to happen. I sat down and asked the HVAC technician what kind of maintenance and repair agreement they offered. He didn’t know if their HVAC company offered maintenance and repair agreements, which had me raising an eyebrow. I thought that all HVAC companies had their own form of maintenance agreement. My phone was in hand and I was calling the HVAC company to ask about their maintenance and repair agreement. The woman who answered the phone told me they had a basic maintenance agreement and asked what I was considering. I wanted one that would offer me free air filters and someone who would come to my house and change it for me. It took an hour to negotiate the maintenance agreement, but I finally got what I wanted. Every six weeks, someone would bring a new air filter to my house and change it out in either the furnace or air conditioning unit, and it would be a free service per my maintenance and repair agreement.
