It is finally coming up on the time of retirement for me.

I have been working in the heating and air conditioning business for over 50 years.

For the last 20 years I have been working for the same heating and air conditioning company as one of their most certified heating and air conditioning specialists. It has been great. Previously before this I was an independent heating and air conditioning contractor. When that finally gave out and I could get no more business, or at least enough to make a living due to competition of young and upcoming independent heating and air conditioning specialists I ended up going to this local heating and air conditioning company to work for them. They were a lifesaver and made it so I could make it to retirement and collect the well deserved pension plan that I had worked so hard for all of these years. My last day is this coming Monday and although I may miss the wonderful people that I work with, I have to say that I am highly looking forward to no longer working at all! I have honestly had enough of heating and air conditioning repair as well as heating and air conditioning installation over all these years. It is time to relax and spend whatever life I have left doing what I want to do and when I want to do it! Retirement is a blessing and I am very much looking forward to it becoming a reality.

My family is coming over this weekend and I have a lot of things to prepare for before they come and stay at my house.

I live in the northeast and my family is from the west.

They don’t get to experience a lot of winter and snowfall in the part of the west that they live in. So it will be very exciting for them to come and see all of the snow that we have gotten so far. Because of all the snow, I have been running my heater all day for the past few weeks. When my heater is running I also like to have my heating and cooling unit’s fan on. The fan is turned on to the auto setting on the thermostat and it kicks on whenever it needs to. However today it seems like it will not shut off. I have tried everything, I’ve even tried turning the fan setting to off on the thermostat. And nothing seems to work. I decided to call my heating and cooling technician because I knew that something had to be broken. When my heating and cooling technician came to diagnose the problem it turned out that the thermostat cable shorted. This was a problem that I could not fix on my own and a professional heating and cooling repair man had to fix. After he replaced the thermostat cable I was finally able to enjoy the fan that’s installed on my heating and cooling system. Now I’m able to turn it off when I don’t need to use it.

When I was a little kid I could sleep for hours on end. I had no issues going to bed and falling asleep right away. Now that I’m much older it takes me a very long time to fall asleep. Normally what I’ll do is if I can’t sleep i’ll go and get a drink of water or turn the TV on because for some reason the TV does help me fall asleep. The other night I woke up and went into my kitchen. When I went into the kitchen I saw my thermostat blinking. My thermostat is located right on the wall near my kitchen and living room. The light was very bright and it was odd to me that the small light was flashing red. It kind of was intimidating because any type of flashing red light means something is serious. I had no idea what the flashing light meant so I went to find the thermostat manual. What I read in the manual was that the flashing light was indicating to me that the outdoor unit was locked out. This means that the outdoor unit is completely shut off due to an issue. Because of the issue that was going on with the outdoor unit, it sent a signal to the thermostat letting me know that there was a problem. I thought this to be a very advanced piece of technology and I had no idea my thermostat could do that. It was 3 a.m. in the morning and unfortunately my heating and cooling company was not open to take any service calls. I finally fell asleep and when I woke up I scheduled an appointment with my HVAC technician to take a look at the locked out outdoor unit.

The things that I really despise the most is cooking and grocery shopping.

I always find it difficult to come up with meals and time to cook.

If I ever win the lottery someday I will certainly hire someone to do all my grocery shopping and cooking. One of the main reasons why I’m not a big fan of grocery shopping is the fact that while you’re there, you experience so many different temperature changes. When I’m in the beauty aisle I start to feel warm. I’ll look up on the ceiling when I’m in the beauty aisle and i’ll see multiple air registers and you can definitely tell it’s releasing hot air. When I go into the produce and frozen meat aisle it’s a completely different story. I’ll look up at the ceiling and I won’t see any air registers but I can feel the refrigerators and freezers let off very cold air. I wonder if someday grocery stores will have heating and cooling systems where the temperature in the grocery store will remain the same. Maybe for the freezer section the grocery store will look into installing energy-efficient freezers. Just think of all of the energy that is being wasted when the freezers do not have any doors on them. If this type of freezer case is changed, the grocery store will save time and money and maybe they can put some of that money towards a more efficient hvac system. Something needs to be done about the wide range of temperature changes because I can’t tell you how many other customers complain about how chilly and warm it gets.

I worked overtime the other day because it’s the end of the year and we have to come up with solutions on how we want to better the company.

Since everyone is so busy during the week we had to come into work on our day off and have a meeting upstairs at the office.

I absolutely dread having any contact with the upstairs office. The reason for that being is that there is no ventilation and it’s always so hot in there in the summer and always very cold in the winter and there is no form of air conditioner or heater. Our boss decided to set up a portable air conditioning unit. He thought that even during the winter time it would be beneficial since there would be some sort of air circulating through the upstairs. I didn’t think it was the greatest idea because winter air is already dry and having air conditioning on is only going to dry out the office space even more. We were all upstairs for a good three hours for the meeting and I left with a very scratchy throat. I think because the air was so dry and at times it was so chilly, that was the result of it. I have to deal with a scratchy throat and it potentially leading to a cold. I was really on a roll with not getting sick during the winter. But I think that’s going to change thanks to the upstairs office not having any form of ventilation, the air conditioning being on, and even coming into work on my day off.

Something I love about the college I teach at is how I have control over the control component in my classroom, however i know a lot of educators who work at other colleges as well as their number one complaint is about the control component settings! Their rooms are either too overheated or too cold, then most colleges don’t allow their educator’s to control the temperature of their classrooms for efficiency as well as consistency reasons, however from what I’ve heard from some of the older educators, our college wasn’t consistently like this.

If they were going to spend all day teaching in one room, they wanted the right to set the control component however they satisfied. The principal agreed, however there were a few limitations. Teachers were granted access to their control unit, however they could only set the temperature between 65 degrees as well as 68 degrees. This would keep things running efficiently. The clear lock boxes were also required to remain locked at all times in order to prevent students from altering the control unit, and each educator was given a key to the control component lock box as well as they were responsible for it. If a educator couldn’t follow these guidelines, then the key would be taken from them as well as the principal would set it himself. I’m so thankful those educators fought for our control component freedom this week. I love to work in a room that’s not too overheated or too cold.

My best acquaintance is always telling me about the various challenges she’s facing. Most recently, she explained how frustrated she was with her women changing the thermostat settings, then she’s told them countless times that they aren’t allowed to alter the temperature because it affects the utility bill, but they don’t fully understand. One of her women is always complaining that it’s too tepid & the other is always complaining that it’s too cold. This makes it easily hard to set the thermostat because it’s always a losing situation for her. I told my best acquaintance about the appealing benefits of a smart thermostat, even though she didn’t want to spend that kind of money on a new thermostat. I explained how she is saving money because her women wouldn’t be changing any of the settings & compromising the efficiency, even though she still wasn’t convinced. I was determined to help her, so instead of a smart thermostat, I went out & obtained a clear lock box to go over the thermostat. There was one key & she could keep it hidden. My best acquaintance was blissful when she opened the gift & she installed it immediately! She claims that the thermostat lock box has changed her life dramatically.

Basically he is on call all of the time. We were enjoying our time together on the weekend when he received a call from a friend. His breaks needed to be completely replaced. So since I was with him and didn’t have my car I had to tag along. It was in the middle of winter and he had no heat! I knew that this was going to be at least 2 hours of sitting in the cold. I told my boyfriend that he needed to go to our local HVAC provider and talk to them about installing a heating and cooling system. I don’t think I could ever go back to the shop again during the winter time just because of how cold I was. There came a point where I asked if I could have the keys to his car so I could sit in his car and turn on the heater. Also I feel like he would even work better if there some kind of he and his auto body shop. Ever since I was a young girl I’ve been told that I have an excellent personality.

I’m a very outgoing person and I have always enjoyed being around the company of others. This personality trait of mine has allowed me to land successful jobs. Now that I’m much older I’m starting to take on jobs that are less demanding. When I first started my career I was in a well known customer service business and I was the number one seller for 5 years in a row. I highly believe that my persistence and determination is what allowed me to achieve my dreams. Now that I’m in my late forties I have carried on my customer service skills to a local HVAC company.
