HVAC Information For Homeowners

My dad used to use the phrase “totally rinsed” when explaining about how something is shot or done with.

Like if he was tired from a long day of water skiing he would say “ahh, I’m totally rinsed” or if someone was being crazy about something then they were “totally rinsed”. You never hear that and I’m not sure where the saying came from, but I guess I will never know because dad died two years ago and the secret is locked up for eternity. But if you feel so inclined you can use the saying too! HVAC system cleaning is my work for the day and I am sure that by the time I get home from working on the heating device all day I will be totally rinsed too. I really miss my pops and I still can’t quite comprehend that he will never come back again one day, but death is forever and I will have to come to terms with it one day. The heating industry is where he worked for most of his life, doing a lot of heating system tune ups over the years and making a really successful business in the process. I am a musician now and am happy I chose this route in life because it really brings me a lot of joy making music and performing for people. Who knows where it will take me, but I am sure it is more rewarding than cleaning ductwork all day for the cooling corp like I was doing back home before switching gears to music.

Currently, it is 20 minutes past noon, and I am sluggishly making it through my workday while sick.

While writing when your body hurts and you have a headache is challenging, I believe I will succeed with a little patience and persistence.

My friend and I are starting the process of putting our name out there to the bars and pubs to see what kind of response we get for gigs now that our band has received the corporation cards we’ve been waiting for. In the summer, we want to perform three shows a week in air-conditioned bars, and in the winter, we want to perform the same number of shows in the mountains, where my friend and I have a chalet. If my friend and I are successful, we will have a very cool life ahead of us, which I suppose is possible if my friend and I continue to work hard and create newer, better music. Each week, the cooling corp keeps me busy, but not so busy that I can’t practice my music like most of my married friends who also work. My one friend claimed that he only has about an hour of free time each afternoon because the rest of the time is spent working or taking care of the house, which is something I have chosen to forego in order to pursue my career as an artist. I doubt that I would have the time or energy to devote to music as I have for so many years if I were still running my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C business as I did before. I will look back on my life with a lot of happiness knowing that I took the chance and got into music.

I was describing how, almost 20 years ago, I made the decision to pursue a career in the performing arts.

I also discussed how, in essence, this decision has taken me all over the world and given me many wonderful memories.

I could have stayed with my painting contractor, but I bet I would still be unhappy and wish I had seized the chance. I’m not famous or anything, but I believe that creating and connecting with the arts is where the real joy lies, not in how many fans or how much money you have. Heating and cooling system stories provide me with an income so I can continue doing the arts, and I am so thankful for them because I enjoy writing about space boilers and other related topics. If my body decides it can, I would love to continue playing music for another 25 years while also collaborating with my band to create a ton of awesome music. My dream might come true if the neighborhood businesses keep us working there. If I lived another 25 years, I would have spent 45 years in the entertainment industry, which is a pretty amazing run given that I didn’t start working until the ripe old age of 38. I’ll take a break in a few minutes to go outside and appreciate the incredibly cool little city I call home. I’m writing right now next to my tiny media air purifier. I’ll try to call my mother tonight if I feel well enough to do so since I currently have the flu.

I have another 40 minutes of work before I take a break and go for a short bike ride.

• But I can’t go on a long ride because I’m sick and have very little energy.

I just want to ride down and look at the ocean and beaches for a while, and maybe run into a familiar face for a chat if anyone is out and about. I enjoy the life I’ve chosen to live abroad, but I miss my family terribly. As the owner of a heating company told me, having everything in life is difficult. He has a partner and children, and he works 60 hours a week at the store, leaving him with little time to do anything else. He stated that he wishes he had become a musician years ago instead of pursuing the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system industry, but he is now obligated to do so until he is at least 73 years old due to a group of children they are raising. He could pursue music when he is 73, but I doubt he will have the energy to do so, which bothers me because he will die with the music trapped inside him. The HEPA filter salesman told me years ago to follow my dreams, and because I am cheerful, I listened to him instead of running my cooling company, which I did until the age of 38, when I decided to pursue comedy. Now that I’ve been doing the performing arts for nearly 20 years and am still relatively young at 55 years old, I’m hoping to make something happen before I’m too old.

I could go for a big bowl of chicken noodle soup to help me get over this flu bug.

I will tell you one thing: it’s not easy to write all afternoon when you have a fever and a headache, but the world doesn’t stop turning, and I have to keep pushing to get these done regardless of how I am feeling.

Today is a cloudy and cool afternoon, and I doubt there is much going on outside because the beaches are mostly deserted. The summer season is approaching, and soon it will be slammed with local business owners, all ecstatic about the summer season dollars… My associate and I have about six more weeks of slowness before the insanity begins, plus all of the tourists arrive. My air conditioner will be turning back on soon, cooling down my apartment so that my friend and I are all comfortable and cozy on those hot summer mornings. I live in a very cool city and would not mind staying here for the rest of my life. The local supplier in town keeps me busy each week with Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment repairs, among other things, making this city even nicer because I don’t have to leave it to find cash elsewhere. I like living here because there are no buses or subways, and you can get around by walking or riding a bike. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation where I work is only a three-minute walk from my house, making it extremely convenient to go to work each afternoon.

I will be stuck in the flat for the next couple of mornings due to a cold.

I just looked out my front balcony at my little quiet street, and it undoubtedly makes me appreciate this small city I live in, as well as the simplicity of it all.

The biggest disadvantage of living here is not seeing my family and friends back home as much as I used to, but I feel compelled to stay because the United States has become too wasteful and too fast for me. It appears that all of my friends are purchasing air conditioners and boilers in order to improve the condition of their homes, even though everything was fine to begin with. I have seen it time and again with people building larger homes than they need to exist, and all of their energy goes into consumption, leaving no energy for creative endeavors. I left my local supplier in 2008 when I decided to transport to NYC to do comedy full time, and I am glad I did because working on air duct cleaning tasks each afternoon was sucking the soul out of my body. There is nothing wrong with doing a trade and making money, but when you feel like there is something inside you that needs to come out, you must listen and pursue it. I ran my local corporation for ten years before deciding that I needed a break from the Heating, Ventilation, and air conditioning equipment world, as well as the hustle and bustle of daily life back home.

I still have a lot to learn about music, especially when I compare it to good love music.

They put so much emotion into their music, and I’m wondering how I can unlock that emotion and incorporate it into my own music. I’ve never taken singing lessons and am just winging it every time I sing, but maybe with enough practice, I’ll be able to unlock the door and open myself to singing like the great artists do in killer love music. I like the 73’s and they love music, so I’m warming up to the idea that I can do the same. I just know that I enjoy playing the drums and singing with my bandmate, and that I believe my pal and I could do some good things with music if we can stay together. I’d rather sing than work as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technician for the rest of my life at the cooling company where I work. Perhaps I could take some singing lessons at the local corporation in town, as my neighbor, who is a singing coach, does not appear to be motivated to assist me after hearing some music my friend and I composed about air conditioners and space heaters. I believe I can sing someone else’s music with emotion, but creating my own from scratch appears to be a weakness. The owner of the cooling company is a fantastic singer, but he does not appear to want to do it for a living because he does not believe he could make enough money doing it full time like he does running the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C business.

I’m getting hungry, and I’d like to get some kefir in my system to help me fight this flu.

Kefir contains a variety of antibiotic strains of beneficial bacteria that aid in the treatment of infections such as the one I have.

I read that you can drink it a few times an afternoon if you have a fever or a cough, and that the antibiotics in it will kill the virus faster. I’ll give it a shot because I have a lot of kefir in my fridge from my flatmate’s afternoon kefir-making sessions. This fever was heating up last night to the point where I was perspiring profusely, but after drinking kefir all afternoon yesterday, the fever appears to be subsiding. I’ll take it all afternoon today and see how I feel when I wake up tomorrow. The cooling technician told me that she had a bad cold or flu and that after about three mornings of using kefir every afternoon, she was completely cured, so let’s see if it does the same for me. I would prefer not to take antibiotics from a healthcare professional if I could avoid it because they kill all of the beneficial bacteria in the body and weaken our immune system. I have to work for the heating and cooling corporation next week, and I need to get better before then. I also have a friend who wants to visit me in five mornings and would love to see her if I am feeling better, as she is a fantastic friend and I certainly miss seeing her.

I’m working on my writing while I recover from the flu that has plagued me for the past two mornings.

I’m hoping it goes away in the next four or five mornings so I can have my friend visit while she’s still in the country.

She is currently in another city for a dance class and will be there for five more mornings before returning here for a couple of mornings before heading back to Finland. I haven’t seen her in about two years, ever since my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C tech ex and I split up, but my pal and I remained friends, and I undoubtedly hope to see another heating worker friend before she returns home. I still have a few mornings to use, so I’m trying to sleep as much as possible so that this thing is knocked out by my body’s energy and immune system. I sleep in air conditioned comfort at night, so the fever doesn’t bother me as much, and I also have a HEPA filter in my air conditioner component, which may help with keeping the air clean at night. I’m not going to do anything today except work on these articles and do my yoga session; otherwise, I’ll be resting and eating healthy foods to refuel my body and make it strong again. My Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning rep told me that these illnesses my pal and I get are a sign that the body needs to cleanse itself, and that when my pal and I get better, we are stronger versions of ourselves.

So, I got sick for the first time in a long time yesterday, and I believe it is a sign that my body and life need to be cleansed in order for rebirth to be possible.

• Things in my life aren’t going as I’d like them to, and getting sick like this is a sign that my mind is stressed, so some changes are in order.

I’ve been alone for over a year and a half and am beginning to wonder if I’ll ever meet someone again, but love can happen as suddenly as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system turning on, and perhaps this sickness is required to help me transport in an unusual direction. I am grateful for my consistent labor because it is the glue that holds my life together; without it, my life would fall apart. I’m just hoping that my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment supplier stock rises again so that I have a cash reserve in case something goes wrong and I need it one afternoon. I’m trying to save some money on the side so that I don’t have to touch that stock, so hopefully things continue to go well and I can continue to save money; The local corporation is having a sale on heating and cooling filters, so I suppose I’ll have to splurge and buy a few for the upcoming hot and cold seasons; Other than that, things are going pretty well in my life, and our band is going to be doing some fantastic gigs soon in clubs across the country.

Two mornings ago, I woke up with a 101 degree fever after getting sick with some kind of bug.

• Two days ago, while out for a walk with a friend, I felt the beginnings of illness, starting with a scratchy throat and progressing to a sinus infection.

Though I have no one to blame but myself, as I exhausted myself playing volleyball over the weekend. My coworker and I interact with many people who may be carrying germs, but if our immune systems are healthy, our bodies will quickly and effectively eliminate any threats. Since exhaustion and overheating from a game of ball can compromise your immune system and cause it to cool down and stop working as hard, I plan on staying in for the next few mornings to write these articles and rest extensively, much like I did last night when I slept for nearly 13 hours. I also intend to turn on my portable air con system in my family room and go to bed early again, as I did the night before. My body needs all the rest it can get to supply it with energy to argue this thing, so I went to bed at 9 last night and didn’t get out of bed until 10 this morning. I plan to work on my HVAC system all afternoon, with a few short breaks in between, and finish up before I go to sleep tonight. Regretfully, I had to tell my amazing friend that she needed to find another place to stay the night before she was scheduled to arrive here yesterday.
