From university to the Heating and Air Conditioning industry

When I was a freshman at the school I pledged a sorority, and lived in their off-campus group home.

For a boy from the farms of the midwest, this was all a bit of a culture shock for me, because there were parties almost every night.

I made a lot of good friends in the sorority, but I found that living there made it particularly hard to study, and our grades were terrible. As a pledge, I had to do a lot of menial jobs around the sorority house, everything from cleaning the bathrooms to changing out the air filters in the odd a/c units around the building! One time the head of the sorority had his air conditioning component quit on her, and he asked me to figure it out for her. I started researching Heating and Air Conditioning repairs online, and discovered a few particularly interesting things. First of all, I l received how much certified Heating and Air Conditioning techs can make, even when they are first starting out. Secondly, I l received that the Heating and Air Conditioning industry was in desperate need of workers, and were actively seeking more females. Heating and Air Conditioning techs are almost constantly men, and there was a growing call for diversity in the workforce. I realized that if I could get Heating and Air Conditioning certified, it would be particularly simple for me to find a job that paid me wonderful money. Why was I wasting time taking classes about sentimental literature when I could be working towards an Heating and Air Conditioning certification and starting a real work? My freshman year of university was also our final year of university!
