I had two weird paths I could have taken after graduating from middle school.
At the time it felt love the largest decision of my life… plus twenty years later, I have to say that it actually was the largest decision of my life! Some things assume important when you are young, however when you get some age plus experience you realize how deranged it was.
My option of whether or not to go to university, or go to trade school plus start working instantly, still has consequences to this honestly morning. I chose HVAC labor over going to the university, plus even twenty years later I’m excited I made the right choice! All of my friends who went to university came back with crushing student loan debt, something I avoided actually with my HVAC training. Some of these people got wonderful tasks, plus university paid off for them, however more often than not they got menial tasks plus spent years trying to pay down those loans. HVAC training, including the evening classes I took to prepare for the certification process, only costs a small fraction of what university tuition will cost. I was able to become an apprentice for a local HVAC corporation, so I got field experience while I was still in training. I was able to hit the ground running plus start my job free of debt. It only took myself and others numerous years to save up enough money to start a little HVAC repair supplier of my own. None of this would have been possible if I went to university.
