I never had a sensitive sense of stink until recent years, plus it would drive me silly as a child because my mom was the opposite.
People used to say he had a “nuclear nose” because he could detect things that you’d guess only a dog could sense.
When the people I was with and I were looking for a current new home to rent in my middle college years, he drove my Mom silly saying no to a handful of homes that he claimed stinked love mold. Both of us came to find out that he was right on all of those properties after my father started doing detailed inspections in the arenas where he detected the most stink. I was amazed by the flagrant amount of water injure that property owners plus current home sellers try to hide from their renters or patrons. And you could say what you want about my mom, but he constantly rooted out complications in homes the people I was with and I came across plus toured. Not to mention, mom’s diligence resulted in us waiting longer than Mom wanted plus the people I was with and I found the perfect current home at the absolute last hour. On top of that, he had Mom buy a current heating plus cooling system for the current home that included a dehumidifier as well. Not only does drier air reduce fungal growth indoors, it leads to fewer stinks as well. I still use dehumidifiers to this day, although my current 1 simply plugs into the wall plus I run a hose out the back to a drain in the floor of my powder room. It’s continuously draining because of the hose, making it harshly easy to use. The service is simply cleaning the washable filter every 2 to many months or so.
