Always pay attention to your furance

It turns out that the fluctuations in the pilot light indicated that there was excessive carbon monoxide in our gas furnace, which is bad! The heating & cooling professional arrived promptly & was able to repair the situation.

Like most houses, the gas furnace at our house is located in the basement. Also, our washer & dryer is also in the basement, so I usually see the gas furnace when I go down to do the laundry. Of course, this is every single day! A few weeks ago, I observed that the light on the gas furnace was flickering. It looked much more orange than usual; I mentioned this to my partner & he seemed really worried about it. He went right down to the basement & looked at the gas furnace. Apparently the light I saw is called the pilot light. This light is an indicator of significant concerns with the gas furnace, and so my partner instantly called in an emergency repair to our local heating & cooling dealer. I was confused about it because I didn’t see how a light could be an emergency. Now, though, I’m really glad that he called! I’m glad my partner jumped into action. It turns out that the fluctuations in the pilot light indicated that there was excessive carbon monoxide in our gas furnace, which is bad! The heating & cooling professional arrived promptly & was able to repair the situation. I was shocked to know how dangerous of a situation the two of us were really in. I’m really glad that I took note of the light. I really wouldn’t have thought anything about it, otherwise. Always pay attention to your gas furnace to avoid any major concerns.
