Making the Bathroom Warm

When my mom moved in with us, it was because she couldn’t manage her own home anymore and she didn’t want to join a community.

My fiance and I anticipated this would happen 1 morning, which is why all of us purchased the home all of us were in.

There was a large, unfinished basement with a walk out door. Of course, all of us never did anything with the basement when all of us moved in and all of us let it kneel unfinished for multiple years. When my mom started hinting at moving in, all of us began the renovation process. All of us added a main residing area, small home office, and an accessible bathroom and walkway. The residing area, home office, and walkway were simple, however the bathroom proved to be more challenging. All of us needed the space to be large with a shower that didn’t have any walkway hindrances. My mom was also consistently cold, so all of us wanted to make her modern bathroom know extra hot and cozy. All of us did several things to add extra heat! First, all of us added radiant heated flooring throughout the bathroom. With a flick of a switch, the floors would heat up and create extra warmth in the space, however especially under the feet. All of us also added a heated toilet seat. It sounded extra expensive when all of us were picking it out, however basements were naturally chilly and all of us didn’t want my mom to know uncomfortable in the slightest. A heated toilet seat was an added luxury that would keep my mom feeling hot and comfortable, even during the bathroom.
