It happened the first night after the first night I spent the night over at his place.
The HVAC unit broke down while we were having our morning coffee.
We were up at the crack of dawn because we each had our jobs to go to, and while we were having coffee, we heard the HVAC system croak and then stopped. A few moments later, we both commented on the decreased indoor comfort. When my boyfriend checked the system, he noticed it had gone off. The thermostat was still working, though. He said he would get around to fixing it since he worked as an HVAC professional at his HVAC business. He was scheduled to travel to the capital later that day to attend a conference about the new HVAC technology launched a few days before. I knew with the trip, and a busy couple of days ahead of him, he would not be able to run HVAC maintenance on the unit. Later that evening, when we spoke, I reminded him of his malfunctioned unit, but since he did not trust any other HVAC repairman with his quality HVAC, he said he would attend to it once he returned. Summer was right around the corner, and I hoped he would have fixed it before then for his sake. When he finally returned later that week, he went straight to the HVAC provider to get replacements for the worn-out parts so he could finally get help with indoor comfort. He had purchased the entire new HVAC equipment from the same HVAC brand as repair was easier. He valued his unit and even did the HVAC installation himself with the help of one of his colleagues. He finally was able to get it running a day before summer began.
