At least in this area they do.
I recently invested in a new heat pump to warm our home. And I have to say that this heat pump is really great! It heats the condo far better than any central heating and ever has. Also, it saves a lot of money on monthly energy consumption! My electric bills have been so much lower ever since I got this heat pump installed. However, the main disadvantage with the heat pump was how much it cost a lot to purchase and have installed. It was nothing appreciate getting a central heating and AC unit, with central heating and ACs it cost maybe half of what the heat pump did in both cost of product and the replacement. If this very modern heat pump ever breaks down I am going to have to spend money more for repairs as well. The local heating and a/c specialists from the heater and air conditioner supplier charge more to repair a heat pump. At least in this area they do. I am not sure about other areas of the country when it comes to the price of repairing a new heat pump. Anyway, I particularly hope I do not have any concerns with our heat pump anytime soon because I really do not need to spend money that high cost of repairs. As much as I love our heat pump I can particularly say there are some cons to the pros about owning a new heat pump. But these cons are well worth it because of how well the heat pump works and how the new heat pump will save myself and others a lot of money on our bi-weekly bi-weekly bills.
