Whenever I need to call the HVAC company, I know I am in for a long week. You need to wait for the dispatcher to call back and give you an appointment. I need to wait until the HVAC technician arrives, and he is seldom on time. The three-hour window seems to be a reason to get there late. It doesn’t matter if you a minor or major repair, or if you need maintenance done; it always fell like a long week when you’re waiting for the HVAC technician. Last month, I called because I wanted to have the furnace cleaned and serviced. I know it seldom takes more than an hour, from the time the HVAC technician pulls into the driveway and when he is leaving. I am always on needles and pins waiting for him to tell me if there is something wrong with the AC or furnace. When they told me the HVAC technician should be there by 1PM, I knew I wouldn’t make it to work. I was up and ready to go by 7 AM. The interminable wait from 7 AM until 11:30 AM when the beginning of the three-hour window began was crazy. I was looking out the window every time I heard a car go by. At 2 PM, I was nearing the end of the three-hour window and was waging between angry and anxious. I knew work was out for the day, but I didn’t want to go upstairs and change and not hear the doorbell ring. At At 2:29 PM, the HVAC technician arrived with a smile. He wanted to know if he was too late to work on the furnace?
