Need to Check the SEER Rating on my HVAC System This Week

We all have newer central HVAC systems in our flats as this is a newer building we all live in.

  • But I’m not sure how efficient the units are, as I just got a power bill that eclipsed all of the previous ones by more than double the amount.

I know the rates went up but I am wondering how efficient these newer units even are. Just because they are pretty new doesn’t mean they have the best efficiency, and I know how the local contractors like to cut corners wherever they can when building something that they won’t be living in themselves. I need to look at the SEER rating on my unit on the rooftop to see what number it is and then decide from there what I will do to try and curb the power bill amount each month. I’m sure there are better units on the market but I am also sure that they cost a lot of money and I really don’t have the money to buy one myself. There are other options out there and I just need to figure out the best one and go from there. The home services store near me has some good HVAC techs and pros working there and I am sure they can help me with my dilemma. Maybe I can buy one of their hybrid heating systems, one of those portable units, and use that instead of my central HVAC system. I will first go on the rooftop and do a little recon to see what kind of unit I am dealing with here.
