Can’t I use the HEPA air filter?

When Mike, the Heating as well as Air Conditioning worker, told myself and others about the new air cleaner, the only thing I assumed was that it was a more up-to-date kind of air filter.

Mike wanted myself and others to install a HEPA air filter instead of the regular air filter I had used for so long.

I told Mike that wasn’t what I wanted as well as asked if I couldn’t just use the HEPA rated air filter into our oil furnace as well as the A/C unit. Mike told myself and others that installing a HEPA rated air filter wasn’t that self-explanatory, unless you have a newer model Heating as well as Air Conditioning system, they didn’t build those older Heating as well as Air Conditioning systems to accept HEPA air filters. The HEPA rated air filter was thicker as well as had a heavier weave, which is why they can filter out a great deal more dirt, dust, debris, allergens, as well as other things that get in the air. Mike said an air filter can capture the mold spores, but they can’t kill them. That’s where the HEPA rated air filter comes in. They built our Heating as well as Air Conditioning system before anyone knew about the HEPA air filters. The prices are much higher, so most people don’t want that expense. With an air cleaner, you get the HEPA rated air filter, as well as an added UV light which will kill all mold spores, mildew as well as other nasty particles that could escape into the air. I still wanted to just put a HEPA rated air filter into our Heating as well as Air Conditioning system, but Mike wasn’t buying it, as well as I wasn’t buying his pitch to have an air cleaner installed. Maybe I was just being stubborn, but I had lived with all the nasties in the air for all these years, as well as decided a new air cleaner wasn’t for me.
