Periodically, I wish that the job opportunity that I took advantage of a couple years ago did not land me in such a brutally frigid section of the country.
After school, I ended up working for a medical engineering supplier with a small branch in my hometown. I was legitimately abruptly promoted because of my labor ethic and high accolades, and I was ecstatic for the opportunity. That being said, I would have to occasion up sticks and move to a section of the country a nice 680 miles away from where I grew up, and mind you, where I grew up, the summers are hot and the winters are mild, then hVAC is not as heavily used in my hometown, and if anything, you need cooling system in the summer. That’s why it was quite a culture shock when I ended up moving. I moved in January of all months, and ended up arriving in this new town during an impressive frigid front. I’ll never forget the temperature I study on the temperature control of my dashboard as I drove into the outskirts of the city. It was 9° outside! There was no snow, however some had recently fallen, and I was just praying that I would not slip and slide over the road and would eventually learn how to drive in such conditions. That’s why I’m so thrilled that the oil furnace of my car was so effective. It still is, really. Anyway, I ended up finding an apartment, and though it was quite small, my number 1 priority was keeping warm. I’m thrilled to say that the landlord of the lake house was legitimately conscientious about making sure that everyone’s oil furnace was working well. If that wasn’t the case, I might not have stuck around!
