When I walked into my house for the first time in two weeks the indoor air quality told it all.
I had left my younger sister Kelsie to house-sit for me while I was away for work.
When I left, the air conditioning system in the living room was making some strange noises and I asked Kelsie to contact the home services business for ac repair. I sent her the number of my preferred HVAC company and gave her a brief of all the observations I had made so that when the HVAC technician came, they would have an idea of what they were aiming to fix. I knew Kelsie likes to take things apart and then put them back so I specifically asked her not to tamper with my HVAC unit and to let the professionals do it instead. She loves researching random things and the heating and cooling industry has been no exception. She probably knows more about my air conditioner than I do but I was still not confident with her YouTube-acquired skills. She once fixed my thermostat but that was as far as I would go in allowing her to be my a/c worker. I did however let her check the ductwork and seal any leaks she came across. Other than inspecting the air duct she could also replace the ac filter. Being the smart cookie that she is, she called and told them that she wanted HVAC maintenance. She ensured that the HVAC professional who came inspected the HVAC thoroughly and that by the time he left, everything was running smoothly. When I came back home I instantly felt the difference compared to how I had left the house. The servicing did a lot to help with indoor comfort.
