Last week, I called for repair to my heating system.

I had last year’s report that said last year would be the last for the heating system, so I was now a bit suspicion, although I didn’t guess who to be suspicious of? I have a fireplace in my home, although I still don’t want to go without the heating system. The fireplace only warms up so much plus I don’t need to worry about frozen pipes so much. I want to sleep in my own home office plus still be warm. I don’t want to call the Heating plus Air Conditioning supplier in the middle of the night because a single of the Heating plus Air Conditioning specialists assessments was wrong, plus I was the a single suffering for it. They sent out another Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist to do a third repair call. Next week, they’ll be installing a new heating system.

I have been trying to get through to the Heating plus Air Conditioning supplier for the last numerous weeks. I’m afraid that if I don’t get them to the house soon, I’ll need to turn my heating system on before the repair is completed plus repairs are done. Instead of telling her I needed service, I told her it was imperative I speak to the owner, plus I did not want to be put on hold. One minute later, I was talking to the owner of the Heating plus Air Conditioning supplier. I explained what had happened plus how I was about to be put on hold for the third time. I wanted my heating system inspected. She promised to have someone had the house within an minute.

Our best guess was that since he lived near the river, the AC unit probably got pushed into the river and was now in the Gulf of Mexico. He swore the air conditioning had to be on his property, but no matter how much he looked, he couldn’t find it. He had to face it, but he was going to need a new air conditioning unit. His daughter showed up and told him she wanted him to move in with her and not worry about AC, but he refused. He said that as long as he could, he would be in the house, and until then she was to leave him alone, unless she planned on having the air conditioning unit installed for him. She called the HVAC company, but she didn’t stick around for it to be installed.

When I first went housekeeping, I was looking at different housing alternatives to suit my needs and my budget.

I told the realtor what my monthly budget was for rent and utilities, and my three make or breaks in property. After coming up with a workable rent and utility price, I had to give some thought to my make or breaks. I knew I wanted a good-sized bedroom and kitchen. I also wanted to have a garage for my car. She told me that narrowed things down if I didn’t want street parking, but she finally found three apartments for me to look at. I didn’t like the air quality of the first apartment building, even though I loved the apartment. Everything smelled old and musty. The next apartment had a beautiful kitchen, but a small bedroom that my bed wouldn’t fit in. The third didn’t have the largest of kitchens, but the bedroom was amazing and there was a garage. I asked about the heating and air conditioning, and she showed me to the garage. The HVAC system was in the garage’s corner, close to the house. There was HVAC in the garage along with it housing the HVAC system, and I fell in love with that tiny house. It was part of another property, but the older couple that were renting out the apartment were very nice. They said their daughter lived there until she got married, and they were charging me my rental fee with all utilities, including HVAC included. As long as they approved my references, the house was mine.

Mom had been a widow for a long time and didn’t entertain the thought of ever remarrying. She was okay with friends and going out for dinner with men, but if they even showed the slightest hint that they were looking for a relationship other than friendship, she didn’t see them again. To make people understand how sure she was she wanted to be alone, she bought a tiny house, and put it in my backyard. She had an electric line run from our house to the tiny house and planned on spending the rest of her life enjoying the company of her family, without being in their home. I asked her what she was going to do for HVAC? She told me about a ductless HVAC system. She took me into the tiny house while they were still setting it up and showed me the inside HVAC unit. We then went outside, and she pointed out where the outside unit was going to be. I liked that the small HVAC system was going to heat and cool the entire house. It was small, but it was compact and gave the impression of being much roomier. It reminded me of a small suite my husband and I had when we got married. There was a full kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. Although it was less than 900 square feet, it was very comfortable, and the single HVAC unit kept us cool.

I was house shopping with my sister last week.

Her husband had to work, so she had me tag along to take pictures and give my opinion.

I wasn’t the best at house shopping, but I was up for a day out of the house. She knew my husband was an HVAC technician and thought I could give her some ideas about whether it was a good AC unit or furnace. I told her I knew nothing about HVAC systems, but with some pictures, my husband could give her some ideas. We saw so many houses over the next five hours that I couldn’t remember what the houses or the HVAC looked like. If it weren’t for the pictures, I would have been lost. We both laughed when we looked at the one picture. The house was cute, but the lawn was so small, they couldn’t put a central air conditioning unit outside. They had to put the AC unit inside the garage. I wondered how it was going to get enough airflow to get air conditioning into the house. Then we realized getting air conditioning into that house would be easy. The AC unit was on the outside wall of the house, and the mini garage was attached. There were only three rooms in the house, if you didn’t include the bathroom, and they were all quite small. How the realtor thought this house was going to be big enough for my sister and her six-year-old son,son was totally beyond me. We kept the picture, but scrapped that house as a possibility.

Even though the garage is attached to our home, there isn’t any HVAC in there.

We have an opening from the garage into the basement, that is concerning in several ways.

If carbon monoxide built up from the car, it would seep into the basement where my kids play. I also had a concern about someone coming through the garage and getting into my house. My husband putting a locking door between the garage and the basement, but now the garage was even colder. My husband had a workshop in there, and I was looking for the perfect Christmas present for him. I wanted to have HVAC installed in the garage. I talked to the HVAC technician about having ductwork installed and have the current central HVAC heat and cool the garage. He said the furnace was on the other side of the basement, and it would be too far to extend the ductwork, but he gave me another choice. He said they made ductless HVAC systems that would be perfect for that space. There would be heating and air conditioning, and he could even put a compact unit in the bathroom/washroom that was in the garage. The price was a bit more than I was thinking of spending for a Christmas present, but our anniversary and his birthday were in that same week. The ductless HVAC system would suffice for all three. I didn’t want to wait until it was too cold for him to work out there, so I had the ductless HVAC installed two weeks later. My husband was elated and bought me a diamond tennis bracelet for my Halloween birthday.

Last month, I had new carpeting installed in the living room and bedrooms.

The living room carpet is a pale grey I hoped wouldn’t show footprints. Unfortunately, the footprints were more noticeable, and every time someone walked on the carpet, even with bare feet, they left an impression. I suddenly realized why I had never had deep pile carpeting in my home. It was horrible to maintain. When the HVAC technician was scheduled to come to the house to do maintenance on my furnace, I planned on having him come to the kitchen door. On the day the HVAC technician was to arrive, my husband had taken the back porch off and was building a new one. I had to let the HVAC technician in through the living room. I put a note on the door that asked if, when you walk in, please take your shoes off. The HVAC technician did me one better. He put anti-static booties on over his shoes and gingerly made his way through the living room. He left less footprint and no dirt behind. I was sure the same wouldn’t happen went he exited the furnace room, but I was wrong. The HVAC technician took off the used booties and put them in his bag for disposal items. He put fresh booties on before leaving my kitchen, and the work order on the table. I told my husband, after the HVAC technician left, that if we ever needed actual work done on the HVAC system, I was going to ask for him to be the one who did the work.

I called the HVAC company again and asked if there could have been a mistake? I explained about last year’s inspection and this one, and said I was concerned one of them was wrong. My concern was that if there was something wrong with the furnace, I wanted it repaired now and not when the weather was cold. I knew what it was like to have the furnace go out in the middle of winter. I had broken pipes in an apartment I lived in and lost all of my personal belongings. I have had to sit in one room with a space heater, while waiting for the furnace to repair while in another apartment. I have a fireplace in my home, but I still don’t want to go without the furnace. The fireplace only warms up so much and I don’t need to worry about frozen pipes so much. I want to sleep in my own bedroom and still be warm. I don’t want to call the HVAC company in the middle of the night because one of the HVAC technicians assessments was wrong, and I was the one suffering for it. They sent out another HVAC technician to do a third service call. Next week, they’ll be installing a new furnace.
