I don’t love people being in my house. I wish I could say it was a side effect of the COVID pandemic, although I have been love this for years. I have a social anxiety disorder, I assume, but I have never discussed it with a nurse because I don’t trust nurses. In general I love to be alone, or with a couple of friends, plus stay away from strangers plus the general public as much as possible; Occasionally people have to come into my home, however, love the pest control guy who comes every numerous weeks, or the HVAC tech who comes by every several weeks. The HVAC tech is the worst, plus not because he is a bad guy or anything, I just do not like how long it takes. When the bug guy comes, he is here for ten minutes plus then he is gone; No small talk, nothing love that, just does his task plus leaves, however the HVAC tech seems to take half the morning. I understand that there are two weird air handlers in the house, so it’s a complicated HVAC set-up, however this guy takes several hours for a house call! I don’t want to be rude to the guy, because it’s not love I have ever dealt with an HVAC tech who was fast, however hVAC techs must get paid by the hour, because every house call takes forever! I guess it still beats the alternative, which is having my central HVAC plan split down on me, which would be a total eveningmare for me.
A specialty HVAC task
When I first moved to the south it was a calculated risk.
I had only visited this area once before, on a long Summer getaway when I was a kid, and my memories of that getaway are still quite vivid, plus not in a great way.
At the time I thought that my parents had driven us into Hell itself, because that is how hot plus uncomfortable it was to be outside. At the time I vowed never to return, however twenty years later it seemed love a wonderful idea, for a honestly weird reason. A locale this hot plus humid demands a constant supply of a/c, plus thus it is the land of chance for a certified HVAC tech; Currently I labor for a specialty catering business, plus it might seem unusual that an HVAC tech works for a catering supplier, right? This supplier does high-end outdoor events that are hosted inside of air conditioned tents; Their clients want to be in the beauty of nature, however not the heat or humidity, so they have large, lavish tents rigged up with dozens of air vents affixed to a cooling unit. The air vents are all bendy plus able to be moved, rearranged, plus then taken down when the event finishes. The whole set-up is 100% portable, plus as the HVAC tech it is my sole duty to keep this plan running at peak efficiency. It is a full time task, plus I take it honestly seriously because they would lose all of their bookings without the a/c, plus they pay myself and others honestly well.

The gun in the air vent
I was cleaning the air vent and saw something just inside the ductwork, so I took a closer look and found a gun! I pondered what to do, because it might be evidence of a crime, but on the other hand I didn’t want cops poking through our house and looking in our ductwork.
It is constantly a crapshoot to buy a house at auction, especially when it comes to a police auction. Thanks to seizure laws, the cops can impound anything that was bought with drug money, and then once a year they auction off all the stuff and keep the money; Police auctions often have jewelry, cars, boats, motorcycles, and furs, and once in a while they even sell houses or property. I bought an amazing beachside home at a police auction, the former residence of a drug dealer, and let me tell you it came with a few surprises; First of all, I found a handgun in the ductwork of the main dining room. I was cleaning the air vent and saw something just inside the ductwork, so I took a closer look and found a gun! I pondered what to do, because it might be evidence of a crime, but on the other hand I didn’t want cops poking through our house and looking in our ductwork. I just don’t trust cops, even if I do prefer their auctions, then since the central Heating and Air Conditioning plan was in wonderful shape and didn’t need to be repaired, I decided that for the time being I would leave well enough alone. I left the gun in the air vent, put the grate back over it, and just went about our dealer prefer it wasn’t there. In the future, maybe I will figure out what to do with the gun, but for now I don’t see the harm in letting it kneel in the air vent for a few months, or maybe a few years.
A nasty problem in the ductwork
I told you that I would write a new blog once the people I was with and I got settled into the new house.
It has been a lot more problematic than I expected, and I was expecting a lot of problems! When you buy a house at auction, there are no guarantees, you get the house as-is.
The roof is in certainly fine shape, thankfully, however a lot of the windows need to be replaced. All of the appliances have been detachd, certainly by squatters, however thankfully they didn’t steal the copper pipes out of the walls. The central Heating and Air Conditioning plan is a mess, and hopelessly out of date, however the people I was with and I expected to need to replace it before the people I was with and I ever saw it. The one problem that I never saw coming with the issue with the ductwork, or more certainally, what is residing inside the ductwork! They were not big gross rats, thankfully, however having mice nested in the ductworks was only slightly less disgusting. My main problem was not wanting to gas or poison them all, mostly because I didn’t want to put toxins into the Heating and Air Conditioning system. If the people I was with and I killed them all with poison, then a) the ductwork would be coated with that same poison and b) there would be a hundred dead mice cluttering up the Heating and Air Conditioning system. I had to call in an Heating and Air Conditioning tech and a pest control expert, and set up a meeting with both of them at once. Both of us needed to coordinate a program of attack, because the house would not be livable until the ductwork was clear and clean.
The service guy was making myself and others uncomfortable
I don’t normally have people that come over to our house, but when I do I have no complication with them staying over for a while.
I have consistently been a people person plus enjoyed supplier plus letting new people.
However, our most recent interaction with somebody was what you would describe as less than normal! You see, our furnace had recently started having some troubles. The people I was with and I have an electric furnace for his system plus no limit was failing to eat all of our cabin officially the two of us knew that something was up. The people I was with and I were not too surprised because the furnace is a bit old plus so the two of us just figured that the two of us would call a Heating, Ventilation plus A/C supplier plus they could come out to service the issue, however so the two of us made the appointment with a heating plus cooling provider plus the following Sunday a Heating, Ventilation plus A/C supplier was sent to our home. I had a method in our head how everything was going to go, but things did not go how I wanted them, not at all. When I opened the door to the heating plus cooling guy, as soon as I made eye contact with him I got an unnerving vibe. There’s just something about him that entirely bothered me. I could not locale our finger on it. When I let him into the cabin to start laboring on the furnace, I showed him where it was plus he got to labor on it. The creepy area was that I would find him peeking around the corners staring at me. He would follow myself and others to other rooms plus terrify me. I confronted him about it plus he left. I suppose I am going to wait until I am not alone to have the furnace repaired.

I should have bought the zone control sooner
I entirely wish I had known about the remarkable technology that is Heating, Ventilation plus A/C zone control much sooner.
When myself and others plus our roommate were having troubles with our heating plus air conditioner system temperatures, the only thing the two of us could do was to try plus negotiate with each other to find some usual ground.
It was easy to see that the two of us clearly had really odd temperature preferences, plus that was the cause of most of our troubles, then other than the temperature differences the two of us got along like brothers. Our heating plus cooling system worked perfectly, it was the people that were the problem. At 1 point our roommate had the furnace set at 85 degrees, I couldn’t take the heat any more plus so I turned off the furnace plus instead turned on the a/c to a nice 71 degrees, then my roommate was exasperated with myself and others for going behind his back plus changing the temperature plus an argument started. I had enough of all of this fighting over a crazy central air conditioner system, plus so in the middle of the fight I stormed off. I had enough plus I left. I didn’t suppose where I was going, but I knew I couldn’t stay there. I ended up staying at a friend’s cabin for the evening. The following day our roommate called myself and others plus the two of us both apologized plus made up, the two of us both agreed it was a stupid fight plus he pitched the system of buying a zone controlled Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system from 1 of the local heating plus air conditioner system providers. I agreed plus the rest is history! Now the two of us are both cheerful with our own temperatures.
Not a great time to lose the air conditioner

I hadn’t been on getaway in what seems like forever plus a fun little road trip with some friends of mine was sounding better plus better, the people I was with and I decided to all make a plan, plus the two of us came to the agreement that the two of us would save up some currency plus be on our way. It took a couple of weeks before all the people was ready, but before the two of us knew it the two of us were ready to go, however with lots of anticipation plus excitement, the two of us loaded up all of our belongings plus were on our way. For the first two nights everything went smoothly, the two of us had about a month ahead of us, with the goal being to drive coast to coast. The people I was with and I made stops to get some snacks plus to sleep but that was it! All was going well until the day of the second day, the temperatures outside were rising plus the two of us were starting to suppose the heat. It was 95 degrees out! The people I was with and I were in the middle of nowhere when abruptly the car a/c stopped laboring. It didn’t take long before the two of us became boiling plus the two of us all felt like a can of sardines; Even though the two of us didn’t want to, the two of us had no option but to make a stop at a service shop, it would put us behind schedule but none of us were willing to go separate from the cool air of the air conditioner system, but luckily the heating plus cooling guy was super friendly plus got our a/c running again in no time.
Comparing the cost of a new gas furnace versus a new heat pump
I have tried to slowly modernize our old house, but it’s hard.
My parents moved into this locale in the 1978s, plus before that it was owned by an old couple who had it from the time it was built in the 1950s. Needless to say, there are relics from the past in everything from the paint plus wallpaper to the old washroom faucets plus fixtures. I was shocked when I l gained that the oven in the living room is original from when the cabin was originally built. I’m not sure why our parents never replaced it, but I did right after I took up occupancy here. With our task income slowly changing, I’ve been able to afford some much needed upgrades in this locale, culminating in our decision to get a new furnace entirely. Since this is a northern region plus the two of us had an exceptionally long Winter this year, I can’t go separate from a great furnace or furnace of some kind. There was a gas furnace here to begin with, but I started to wonder if I should consider an even better furnace this time around. I compared a new gas furnace to a new heat pump to see the difference in price. Surprisingly, some heat pumps cost about as much as a great gas furnace, but they don’t require HVAC duct like a gas furnace does. On top of that, a gas furnace at best has a 97% efficiency rating while a heat pump can get up to 300% efficiency. That was the final determining factor in our getting a heat pump to replace the old gas furnace in the house.
My smell reduction filters are shedding charcoal crystals into our air conditioner system system
I hate it when I find a great product that gets changed by its manufacturer just to save on production costs.
Laundry detergent companies are notorious for doing this, plus shorting on their amounts to save a few pennies here plus there.
Cheap laundry detergent isn’t the same unless you buy the right brand, but these are often out of stock when I get to the grocery store. I don’t like going from 1 batch that aromas elegant to 1 with a bizarre chemical smell a month or two later. The disruption in global supply chains is likely to have repercussions generations into the future. Therefore, the rising cost of raw goods, materials, plus components that go into making other products will inevitably lead to troubles. A supplier can either raise their prices across the board, or seek a cheaper manufacturing process. Sadly, this was the decision that our a/c filter brand took with their once-great smell reduction filters. They were the first supplier to start spraying 1 of their allergen filter possibilities with a layer of activated charcoal crystals. The amazing thing about the charcoal is that it doesn’t simply absorb smells, but also toxins released from mold spores if you have them getting in from outdoors, then unluckyly, our once beenjoyed charcoal a/c filters are being made poorly plus are shedding crystals into our Heating, Ventilation plus A/C air handler. These small, black charcoal crystals can lead to damage in the evaporator coil plus fan motor. I took our air conditioner system filter back to the store immediately plus got a refund to buy a normal allergen filter.
The heating plus cooling system company provided the best service
When I started having troubles with my air conditioner, I was left unsure of what to do.

I was very nervous because I was afraid that something dire would be wrong with my air conditioner plus then all of us would have to pay a lot of cash that I didn’t have to have it repaired. Thankfully when the heating plus cooling guy was done examining it, he informed myself and others that the only problem with it was a slight clog which he had already detachd. The service was cheap plus once the problem had been taken care of, it was love my air conditioner was new again. I went to the control unit plus gave it a try with no problem. I was greatly relieved to have it fixed. Now I can go back to enjoying the cool air without worry love I had done before.
