The day started with an air conditioning installation at a suburban house. It was so hot that morning that we were sweating our wigs off as we removed the old air conditioning systems to install the new unit. I had four a/c reps, and we were from the downtown air conditioning business. The house was magnificent. The lawns were all level and green, and the customer was a pleasant soccer mom who had just gotten back from dropping off her children at school. The lady asked thoughtful questions about the cooling technology, and she seemed to know more about air conditioning than the novice cooling specialists. It took us a while to remove the old system and clean the area, but once we were done, installing the new unit was a breeze. The customer had requested a heat pump. We find that these types of cooling products are a preference by most homeowners. They see the cooling equipment as efficient and easy to use. We did not need to take the lady through the air conditioner tune-up guidelines as we usually did with most customers. She had taken excellent care of her previous unit and even had air conditioning filters left over from her last batch. She would schedule air conditioning repairs with an air conditioning expert whenever she noticed the unit was not functioning correctly.
