I was continuously trying to fan myself with the script I was holding, but it was not working! When I noticed that everyone present was doing the same I knew I had to do something… It was our second last rehearsal plus my friend and I needed to concentrate without distractions… Adjusting the control unit settings had also not helped so I figured that the problem must be the cooling system.
Later on, I went to the manager, then she too had noticed the heat, plus the change in air quality, plus talked to the people in charge of the hall.
In my view, they should have hired a repair woman who either once worked in the cooling industry or knew what to do to help with indoor comfort compared to the one who was there plus knew close to nothing. I was afraid that the house services provider would schedule the air conditioning system repair the same afternoon as our last rehearsal but luckily it was a afternoon before which was perfect. I was there at the specified time but there was nobody. To their credit, the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C business showed up ten minutes later, and she diagnosed the a/c with such efficiency that I was impressed. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C professional checked the ductwork plus said that it needed cleaning. With the ductwork clean plus a current air conditioning system filter in arena, my unit was as great as new.
