My air conditioner equipment had been broken for less than an hour, and the home was already getting moderate and humid. I called the Heating plus A/C company, but they had no one available until the following day. I had a newborn baby boy, and I couldn’t keep his in the home without any air conditioner. I looked out and realized there was an Heating plus A/C contractor at my neighbor’s house. I went over and knocked on his door, then he cooed over the baby as he was letting me in. I asked if I could talk to his Heating plus A/C contractor. She agreed if I would let his hold the baby. I walked outside and asked him if he could work on my air conditioner. I told him I was a single mom with a newborn, but the Heating plus A/C company said they had no one available to work on my air conditioner. He told me he was stuck in the yard working on this one. He had two more houses to go to, and he couldn’t just skip them. I was pleading with him to please help me and service my air conditioner unit. I knew he was uncomfortable, but it wasn’t safe for my son. He finally told me he would return and work on the air conditioner unit, but it would not be until 6PM. I thanked him profusely, but I couldn’t take my baby back to that house. I asked my acquaintance if my friend and I could stay here until the Heating plus A/C contractor came back. She told me to get everything I needed for the baby and then come back. She was babysitting until I returned.
