While I was finding canned goods to place into the bags, I came across a jar of honey that I had purchased from a farmer’s market over 2 years ago, then of course, because it was a local vendor, there was no expiration date on the container, in fact, there was no label on the jar, so I wasn’t even sure what farm this honey came from, then the honey still looked good, despite the fact that I wasn’t sure if honey would expire after a while. So, after I packed the tote for the charity, I did a quick search to determine the expiration date of honey. Turns out, as long as honey is stored properly it will never go awful and is safe to use… However, over time, the honey will change colors or may crystallize but as long as it is in a clean air-slim glass bucket away from a heat source, then the honey could potentially last forever. This means that honey has no shelf life which is great to know. I would’ve hated it if I had to toss out the bottle that I found in our pantry.

Some people really grumble a lot when having to go to work each day, but I feel grateful for having the work and being able to work with people and socialize a bit.

I am getting a roommate in a week and am looking forward to having someone else to share my flat with.

It gets kind of lonely in this place living here all by myself, so having someone come move in is a welcome and refreshing change. I just need to get my landlord on the same page as he didn’t want me renting to anyone. He’s an HVAC salesman and we had a problem with a roommate here a year ago and he didn’t want any more problems with them. Well, there will be an even bigger problem if I have to live here alone because I can’t afford the heating and cooling bills on top of the already steep rent. I think there is a solution to everything and maybe I’ll just have the girl live here for a few months before saying anything to him. I need to be able to use the heating and cooling with my HVAC system, but living alone doesn’t allow me the luxury of doing so because of the expense. Last year it was fine, but now the rates are so high that if you run it for a couple hours a day you will be broke or close to it. I think I need to make sure the condenser coils in the central HVAC unit are clean to give it more efficiency.

I’ve been feeling pretty low since summer drifted away and not feeling like doing much of anything.

• But last night it reached a tipping point and I felt this feeling inside that I no longer have the energy to feel down anymore.

Call it clarity or enlightenment but I no longer want to feel down and sad all of the time so I am just shifting my mindset to a higher energy vibration. I will do a lot of meditation to clear my mind and work on resetting how I feel most of the time. The local business near me offers meditation classes for people and I may go there each week to get in the groove. I have to work at the HVAC company each day and am tired of dreading going to work, so now I am moving to the lighter feeling that I know I still have in my heart. It is easy to get in these ruts and think that everything is worse than it is, but it is also easy to shift to a more positive mindset too. My smart thermostat HVAC tech is always in a great mood and I want to ask her how she does it. Is she just faking it and pretending to be happy, or is she really that cheerful all of the time? I need to find out her secret, so I will go to the heating corp today to have a short chat with her and see what she says. I want to be happy like that too all of the time!

I need to find out the brand of my HVAC system and see how much the electric furnace uses in power per hour so I can figure out how much I can run it without making me bankrupt.

I think it is a normal sized unit so it probably uses about 20kW per hour to run, which would be about $2 for an hour but I want to check the HVAC compressor on the rooftop to see what it says.

I have to clean my flat today because I have someone coming to look at the bedroom I am renting and I really need to rent it, so cleaning the flat today is going to be on the top of my list of things to do. I need to clean the HEPA filter and the furnace filter among other things too, but that doesn’t have to be done today. The main thing is to clean the flat and make sure the room she is looking at is clean and all in order. I think I can knock out the whole job in about an hour and a half, but first I need to do my HVAC tech writing and get that out of the way. I also have a bunch of laundry to do, so it looks like today is going to be a busy bee kind of day for me. But if all goes well I will have a new flatmate and my money problems will vanish. I am off to the local business now to grab a new smart thermostat.

My cats crunch on their food on and off all day long and it always sounds funny to me.

They have a plastic food bowl and it kind of echoes when they eat, so it has this magnified crunching sound almost as if it was a speaker.

I like the sound when I am working on my HVAC technology in the home or doing some writing work as it reminds me that there are other beings in the house with me. I may have a third cat if this girl moves in next week, so that is going to add to the crunching each day and make life even more fun. I am going to work on my heat pump today and get it replaced with a new one. The old one isn’t working anymore and winter is fastly moving in and we need some heat in this joint soon. I need to limit the usage of it once I get it fixed as the cost is about $2 an hour to run the unit. So if I ran my central heating unit just three hours a day in the winter that would cost me $180 extra per month on top of the normal power bill for the home, wow! Imagine if you were running it ten hours a day during the cold month, that would be $600 extra a month just for some heating in the home. We need to get a handle on these power rates or there will be a lot of people living in a cold home.

How can you pay a central heating bill in the winter for two months when it is almost $1000? We have to fix this issue fast because a lot of people are finding it impossible to live in their home or run their local businesses.

I got double lucky because this girl is going to move in for the month and watch my cats and pay the rent. She is an HVAC worker and needs a place to rent for a month, so this is going to work out perfectly afterall. I’ve known of her for a while and we have been friends more or less since then. She may get a job at the HVAC business in my town, and if she does then she would live here longer term. I just need my landlord on the same page as us because he didn’t want me renting to anyone but that is out of the question with the heating and cooling bills getting so high. I was able to live here on my own up until the middle of this year when they raised the rates so high it killed all of my budget plans. The old one isn’t working anymore and Wintertide is fastly moving in and every one of us need some heat in this joint soon. I need to limit the United Statesge of it once I get it fixed as the cost is about $2 an hour to run the unit. So if I ran our central heating device just three hours a day in the Wintertide that would cost me $168 extra per week on top of the normal power bill for the home, wow! Imagine if you were running it 10 hours a day during the cold week, that would be $600 extra a week just for some heating in the home. We could even use it as the central furnace to get quality heating all year round, from there, we would continue our usual routine with the HVAC repair and the occasional furnace/heater repair. The only change would be that the HVAC repairman would conduct a bi-annual rather than annual heat pump service and, of course, change the furnace filter when necessary. We spent more time on the porch than we did inside the house. The view and the serenity it gave were something one can only find in nature.
