There really wasn’t that much to making the decision when I really think about it. But not working inside the zone controlled HVAC of work wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. In fact, it turned out to be just the right thing for the rest of my career perhaps. My husband also was locked out of the commercial HVAC in his office. But he tends to deal with change and adjustment much better than I do. That resolve was so good for me in those first few months working from home in our own air conditioning. The very first thing we did was clear out the guest room and set up a serious home office. This was ultimately the best decision we could have made. Having a proper work environment inside the residential HVAC of our house was essential for what came next. To my utter amazement, I really like working from home in a very real way. My schedule was much more flexible working from home in my own air conditioning. Surprisingly, I was far more productive and the quality of my work was much better as well. So when the offices open back up, I just didn’t want to go back. Fortunately, I was able to continue to work remotely from the air-conditioning at home. Honestly, I can’t imagine working in an office again. The company even gave me a bonus to stay working remotely. With my husband’s blessing, we took that bonus and had a ductless heat pump installed in my new home office. Now, I even have the sort of quality heating and air that rivals the zone controlled HVAC that I left.

I’m kind of wishing I had used our savings and had the whole home air purification unit installed earlier.

Yet, this is some HVAC technology that’s not exactly cheap.

We live on a budget so things like a whole home air purification system art items we can just write checks for. But we started looking at air purifiers last year as a way to improve indoor air quality of our house. Our house had an indoor air problem. That was thanks to 3 boys, two dogs and a cat. For sure, there is no shortage of odors in our house. And of course, we tried all the air fresheners and even borrowed an ionizer from a guy I know who works in a hotel. They helped but never solved the problem. As soon as the heat pump cycled on, the odors where right back on top of us. If we had company we had to light scented candles, plug-in room deodorizers and have a can of spray handy. HVAC professionals told us that if we really wanted to clean the odors out, we had to go after the bacteria causing the problem. And that bacteria was airborne. We had to have the sort of air purification at what address our needs. Since we weren’t too excited about having the sort of air purifier that we had to move around and had a filter to clean, we moved on. That’s when the HVAC professionals showed us what the whole home air purification system could do. And it fits inside the HVAC unit and doesn’t need any sort of filter cleaning because it uses UV light.

For sure, there are plenty of traits Dad passed down to me by being handy was not one of them. That’s how it goes I suppose. So why I ever even considered trying to figure out the air conditioning, I haven’t a clue. However one day, I came home from work to find the inside of my house like a sauna. I chose to try to solve the problem right away. The complete lack of ability didn’t stop me as I thought perhaps I could figure out just what was wrong with the HVAC equipment. Of course, I had zero training when it came to heating and cooling. I don’t even know just how residential HVAC even works. I don’t understand the mechanics behind how the heat pump is so good at HVAC cooling. And if it’s built for air conditioning, why is it called a heat pump? With that amount of cluelessness, I still thought it would be a good idea to have a look inside the HVAC equipment. That went about as well as you I would imagine. I didn’t fix the air conditioning, I only made it worse. It was a long, hot and humid night before I could call the HVAC professionals the next day. But I learned a valuable lesson. When it comes to quality heating and air, leave it to the HVAC professionals. I even went so far as to sign up for the HVAC service plan.

Having been raised in a city, I just wasn’t so sure that I wanted the same for my children.

Yet, my wife and I came to a point where we either moved our family or kept them in the same schools in the city and stayed.

My wife and I were raised in the city and there are good things about that experience. Even apartment life had some positives. There was the radiant heating in the winter. This sort of HVAC heating was so comfortable. The air conditioning in the summer wasn’t so great but that comes with the territory. As soon as we bought this property, the HVAC equipment was one of the first priorities we addressed. My wife and I decided that we would buy a place about 90 minutes out of the city. This house comes with lots of space. There’s some 20 acres, a farmhouse and lots and lots of nature. It was all in pretty decent shape with just needs for upgrades. Having lived with apartment HVAC our whole lives, getting great residential HVAC was at the top of the list. The old farmhouse was in great shape but it was not designed for modern HVAC equipment. We had a wood stove for heating and there were window air conditioners but we wanted more of a residential HVAC system. We ended up going with ductless heat pumps in our home. There are several ductless heat pumps strategically placed throughout our house. They’re wonderful and we’re lucky to have them. I’m just so impressed with the sort of quality heating and air that they provide.

Really, now that I think about it, I was dumb not to go straight to a local source on managing the heat of summer. I guess I was sort of thinking that everybody dealt with the HVAC cooling running all the time. The fact that I wasn’t spending so much money on HVAC heating was also a big factor and putting off and air conditioning strategy. The gas furnace where I used to live was awesome and provided us with a great HVAC heating. Yet, there were big heating costs involved. So when we moved south, I guess I just figured that I was sort of breaking even at worst with all the HVAC cooling expense. When we first moves down here, the heat pump was running nearly all the time from June through September. We did nothing but pretty much stay inside the air conditioning all summer. Again, this has everything to do with having the mentality of staying inside the HVAC heating all winter. Finally, I ended up asking a native of the area about his air conditioning costa. I was stunned by how little he was paying. The thing was but my friend doesn’t turn on the air-conditioning until the temperatures are consistently in the 90s during the heat of the day. Doing so allows your body to acclimate to the higher temperatures. So when he does turn on the air conditioning he doesn’t need nearest high for thermostat setting throughout the entire summer. My wife and I tried that approach this past spring. It worked like a charm. Not only did we hold down air conditioning expenses but we got outside a whole lot more.

It’s sort of stunning to be in a rented condo again after some thirty years of homeownership. But that’s the case at the moment after selling our house. The first time my wife and I are renting a place since we were in college. Thinking back on that apartment, I remember it was just the worst. In the winter, we basically needed space heaters all the time. And the window air conditioner didn’t do much during the summer. However, none of that really matters all that much when you’re so in love. Thankfully, we’re still very much in love and excited about starting a new part of our lives. But, still noticing the HVAC comfort in this rental. I like the condo we’re renting, it’s nice enough. And it was such an effort just to get out of our house and into this condo. There were points there I wasn’t so sure we were going to be able to do it. There were some long nights sorting and packing. But at least we had the new HVAC equipment to enjoy the great air conditioning. However, I sure am missing that great residential HVAC about now. We upgraded the HVAC equipment in order to get the very best price for home. Having that sort of great heating and cooling makes it tough to go backward. Yet, I’m going to use it as motivation to spur us on to find the right place in order to begin the next chapter of our lives. And for sure, we’re going to have the very best residential HVAC on the market.

It’s hard to believe that this is even the same garage. For the longest time, the garage was only a source of embarrassment for me. That’s because I let it just get so out of hand that it was basically just a dumping ground. When we bought this house, we were both really excited to have really good residential HVAC along with a garage. Finally, we could put the good car inside and still have room for all our gear. Having lived in apartments, we were not accustom to such a great storage scenario. I was even able to put in a workbench in that garage. I would slip out of the air conditioning just a putter around when the girls were little. That was also the spot my wife tried to sneak her cigarettes and keep that hidden from our daughters. As time went by, the garage became more of a dump zone than a haven. This was so distressing to me but it seemed like there was nothing I could do. The more I tried to clean out the garage the worst and more disgusting it got. However when we were locked down inside the air conditioning due to the pandemic, I found the real value of my garage. I committed as much time as it took to completely clean it out and reorganize it. And I took all of that one step further by calling the HVAC company. I really wanted to utilize this space and having great heating and cooling was a key ingredient for that wish. Well, I finally broke my own myth that I’m somehow bulletproof.

I finally got injured to the degree that I went to the hospital and had to deal with a long road to recovery. I’m not the sort of guy that just hangs out in the air conditioning at home on the weekends. Since I was a kid, I’ve been outside and very active. For years, I would end up in scenarios where most people would have been really injured. But I was lucky, I just walked away with a few scratches. That false sense of security probably built up in my mind over time. This may have caused me to take chances that otherwise, I wouldn’t have. One of those chances resulted in spending the aforementioned time in the hospital. I’m thankful to have had the great quality heating and air in my home as I have convalesced. Where I live, the heat pump doesn’t get much work in the winter and that’s one of the reasons I live here. I don’t want to be stuck inside the heating but outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. Our summers come with lots of heat and humidity. And the only answer for that is good residential HVAC. Since I had to spend most of this summer inside my house recovering. I’m awfully glad I had the sort of HVAC cooling that my heat pump provides. I’m also lucky to have a smart thermostat so I have an app on the phone that allows me to control the thermostat setting. But before too long, I’m getting out of this air conditioning and back into the sunshine.

My wife really gives me a hard time these days when I say I’m cold. This was never the case when I was younger. I was always the one who wanted all the HVAC cooling he could get. Now in our early sixties, I’m stunned by the change of my body when it comes to temperature sensitivity. To that end, I’m so glad we ditched the gas furnace for the heat pump down here in the south. This was one of the best choices we ever made. Given the way I am about cold now, I don’t think I could have even survived another winter up north. The heat pump in our new place hardly even has to come on for heating in the winter. I do flip the thermostat over to heating about Thanksgiving but it might not come on for weeks. My wife, on the other hand, loves the winter here because the air conditioning is generally off. Heat season is from June through September and it is much tougher on her than it is on me. I’m grateful to have great HVAC cooling they comes from are new residential HVAC. but my wife really needs more HVAC than I do. It’s a bit of a balancing act for the both of us during the summer. I try to save on HVAC cooling costs and my wife wants more. But as this time of year rolls around, I’m the one whining about needing more heating. It seems the older I get, the thinner my blood is getting. It’s still in the seventies during the day here in October. But I’ve broken out a sweatshirt a few times already.

It’s just so very nice to want to come home these days. That’s not at all the way it felt for a long time. It got to the point where I preferred to stay late inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office instead of go home. That’s always a problem when you want to stay at work instead of going home to your own air conditioning. The reason I didn’t want to go home had nothing to do with my family and everything to do with my house. I’m lucky to have a great house with great residential HVAC. And my family is the focus of my life. I love them so much and just being together is really the best part of my day. So staying late inside that commercial HVAC of the office was not where I really wanted to be. The reason I didn’t want to go home was because of the horrible odor in our home. Thanks to three kids, two dogs and a cat, there is no end to the bad smells. My wife and I also like to experiment with cooking so that’s thrown in there as well. No matter what we tried when it came to deodorizers, nothing worked. As soon as the heat pump kicked on, the odors were right back on top of us. But whole home air purification has changed the paradigm. This air purifier actually destroys the DNA of bacteria that cause the odors. And it worked fast. Within 24 hours, our house went from wretched to wonderful. And we now have the best indoor air quality you can find.

So too many kids and not enough bedrooms was causing major problems in our home.

My wife and I could no longer try to ignore the fact that our kids couldn’t share bedroom space and something had to happen. We have twin boys would be able to share a room inside the air conditioning of our home until they left for college. The plan was for two kids and we bought this house based on that plan. But when the twins came it was a big surprise. Sharing a room wasn’t that big a problem until they got into middle school. Now that the boys are this age, there is hardly a moment when they’re not fighting each other. Just like some peace and quiet inside the central air conditioning of my house. Buying a new house was out of the question. Plus we like the idea of adding value to this house as it’s our major investment. So we had a new room put on that came with new air conditioning. The new addition is a master bedroom suite and comes with its own ductless heat pump. The existing HVAC equipment could not handle the addition of that much more air volume. This is why we have the ductless heat pump in the master suite. I’m so impressed with this heating and cooling equipment. And I love the fact that it has remote control we can access from an app on our phone. But even better is the fact that our boys are getting to be friends again and there is quiet in our home.
