There’s is one constant in my adult life.

• And that is the fact that I particularly stay grateful for the life I’m so lucky to lead.

I come from pretty humble starts. I didn’t even have residential HVAC in our home when I was little. And that was back in the 90s. My buddy and I do not have any children plus so we make sure to pay it forward in other ways. So when we found out that my fiance’s cousin had her entire world turned upside down due to the pandemic, we wanted to help. Our home has a basement plus we decided to turn it into an home for this awesome lady. She just needed a place to feel safe plus get back on her feet. The HVAC dealer particularly helped us out by providing plus installing a ductless heat pump. I have to say that the residential HVAC in the basement particularly does set that space off as its own apartment.

It’s easily still the best time of year around here, at least in my opinion. Where I live, the winter provides some of the best weather my fantastic friend and I see all year. So it’s time to get real about the cooling system costs, particularly in the summer. We’ve tried weird strategies & consistently prepped the home to maximize the heat pump’s efficiency. But my fantastic friend and I also get weak knees by about mid June & begin leaning into the thermostat to supply more cooling system. And this comes at a cost. It’s more fancy for sure to be running the cooling system night & day. But there is another cost involved. That cost is the fact that with all that cooling system, the heat & humidity of summer time feel all that much more overwhelming. So my fantastic friend and I did something last Springtime using more respected sense & it made a large difference. Instead of going right for the cooling system in the, my fantastic friend and I waited until like mid May. Our bodies acweather conditionsd to the higher hot & cold temperatures which resulted in a more comfortable summer time & less demand for cooling system.

I never would have thought that December could be one of my favorite times of year.

That’s because where I grew up, December & January were brutal when it came to cold.

I could hardly leave the home & all the heating from the gas furnace. Luckily, I went to school in the south & ended up getting a task down here after I graduated. So I’ve been enjoying these attractive winters for a long time now. The weather is easily nice this time of year where I live. It doesn’t get a whole lot worse than maybe the mid forties at night & I can deal with that. The heat pump hardly even comes on throughout the winter. I can enjoy this weather for another couple of months before the hot & cold temperatures begin to rise again. Springtime arrives early around here & that comes with an increase in temperature. So the cooling system comes on much sooner down here than it does where I used to live. That also means that Springtime cleaning comes earlier as well. I don’t know if it’s just tradition or what but, I easily do like to deep scrub the home at the beginning of Springtime. And part of that deep scrub is having the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C professionals come out & do the HVAC duct cleaning & HVAC duct resealing. I like to get this done just about every year. It easily does improve the indoor air quality & control the dust. On top of that, making sure that the HVAC duct is completely sealed maximizes the efficiency of the heat pump. And our heat pump will be running to supply cooling in our cabin up to 8 months of the year. So that makes a big difference in cooling system costs as well keeping our indoor air quality good.

My husband and I sort of had a loose plan when it came to the afternoon that the teenagers were all out on their own.

While my friend and I really were good with things changing, as they do in life, my friend and I were also making plans. And the fact that the old heat pump finally died sort of put those plans into action. Since my friend and I were going to have to update the heating and cooling equipment, then my friend and I were selling the house. That meant doing a bunch more renovations as well so my friend and I could get the best price my friend and I could from our home. While I knew that Heating and Air Conditioning technology has advanced over the last 25 years, I have to say I’m overwhelmed by how much. The heat pump that went out of here in the back of a truck was one my friend and I put in 26 years ago. It was the first appliance my husband and I ever bought. My buddy and I got a steal on our property all those years ago and one of the reasons was because the residential Heating and Air Conditioning was so old. With plenty of Heating and Air Conditioning maintenance, my friend and I got every bit of our currency’s worth out of that old heat pump. But my friend and I ended up rolling the dice to see if it would get through one more summer time before my friend and I updated it with current heating and cooling equipment in October. It was a tense summer time as the heat pump really got a bit overwhelmed by September. And the air conditioner costs began to spike a bit. But my friend and I got through to October when the Heating and Air Conditioning professionals installed our current Heating and Air Conditioning unit. Again, I cannot think all the Heating and Air Conditioning technology that comes with this thing. There’s zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning in addition to smart temperature control inside the house. And the SEER rating on the equipment is triple what the old one was. But I did not study the warranty the way I should have.

I had to learn that the tough way and I’m still kicking myself for voiding that Heating and Air Conditioning warranty.

People always say that you need to cherish every moment you have with your children because in the blink of an eye they will be young adults.

I always had a hard time believing this when I was battling my kids through every moment of the day. Let me tell you, with those little turds in my household it felt like time was never going to pass. I certainly never thought that they would grow up too quickly for I would find myself reminiscing about the good old days when they were knee-high little shits. That’s why I was surprised the other day when I suddenly found a toy of my son’s from his childhood and broke down crying. I could remember the exact moment when he lost this stuffed animal as a five-year-old. Here I was, minding my own business and cleaning out the central heating and cooling system when suddenly his missing toy presented itself. I was doing my best to clean the central heating and cooling ductwork in my home because I had noticed a lot of uneven indoor air temperatures in the last week. It seems like my air temperature was fluctuating from hot to cold even when I was using the air conditioning unit at full blast. I knew that my ductwork had been neglected for many years because I have been too occupied with parenthood over indoor air quality. Finally, I had the time and energy to deal with my heating and cooling system for the first time in 20 years. Clearly my son was messing with the ducts without my knowledge. Not only does this discovery bring me back, but it’s a reminder of what a mischievous little butthead my kid was.

Our modern world is absolutely depressing.

Not only do we have this a viral pandemic completely destroying our country.

However, we also have so much social injustice and financial worry to deal with at the same time. If you haven’t been paying attention, let me tell you that our global economic system is absolutely doomed. Somehow, 1% of the population has almost all of the wealth while the rest of us toil away everyday unable to live comfortably. It’s always been challenging to provide enough food, clothing, and entertainment for a family. Recently, it has gotten so bad that we can’t even afford our indoor air handling devices to literally be comfortable in our own homes. If you’re anything like me, you tend to live paycheck-to-paycheck. This means your energy bills are a massive concern every month. This is especially true when you have to use your indoor air handling devices to deal with the horrific global warming that we also contend with. Not only is the outdoor air temperature constantly getting more uncomfortable and unpredictable, but the cost of keeping a central heating and cooling system working is considerable. When you have a large central air conditioning unit and forced air furnace you spend every day praying that it’s not going to break down. The last thing that I need right now is a professional heating and cooling repair cost on top of my high energy bills and routine service charges. I wish that we had some kind of citizen revolution to instate fair wealth distribution in our world… But I would settle for affordable heating and cooling devices.
